Overview
Refines how errors are communicated in HL7 v2 ACK messages, specifically using the ERR-5 field. This has been incorporated into existing guidance through the ACK Technical Advisory Bulletin and will be included in the CDC HL7 v2 Guide (Release 2). It improves clarity and consistency in error reporting for submitters. This is a defined enhancement rather than an emerging area of work.
