Building Bridges with IVC

Stages

A Stage marks how far along a topic currently is, from first being raised through active work to being ready for broader use.

Identified

A country, organization, community, or relationship has been identified as potentially relevant, but little engagement or analysis has occurred.

Context Developing

Background, participants, needs, priorities, and strategic relevance are being researched and understood.

Ready for Engagement

Enough context and a clear purpose exist to begin, renew, or broaden substantive outreach.

Engagement Underway

Outreach, interviews, meetings, or substantive conversations are actively occurring.

Relationship Established

Mutual understanding and a continuing relationship now exist, even if no specific collaboration has been selected.

Opportunity Shaping

A specific collaboration, exchange, demonstration, proposal, or strategic opportunity is being developed.

Active Collaboration

Concrete joint work or an ongoing partnership is underway.

Advancement Paths

An Advancement Path describes what a topic currently needs in order to keep moving forward, such as funding, a decision, technical direction, or outside participation.

Learn and Listen

Use the relationship primarily to understand the country, organization, ecosystem, needs, and perspectives.

Maintain the Relationship

Preserve trust and communication without actively expanding the relationship or pursuing a specific opportunity.

Deepen the Relationship

Invest in more sustained engagement, reciprocal exchange, and stronger mutual understanding.

Connect to AIRA Work

Link the relationship to an existing AIRA initiative, community, standard, service, or area of expertise.

Develop a Joint Opportunity

Shape a new collaboration, pilot, proposal, service, funding opportunity, or formal partnership.

Pause

Preserve the relationship history and context, but stop active advancement until conditions change.
