Overview

Explores improving authentication for the CDC WSDL interface used by IIS for HL7 v2 exchange. Current implementations often rely on long-lived shared secrets, which do not meet modern security expectations. This would introduce more robust approaches such as OAuth2 while maintaining compatibility with existing workflows. Interest is growing as systems look to strengthen security without replacing established interfaces.
