Overview

Supports indicating when a vaccine recommendation is classified as Shared Clinical Decision Making by the schedule authority. This allows IIS responses to reflect more nuanced guidance beyond routine recommendations. It is typically conveyed within HL7 v2 RSP messages as part of CDS output. Interest exists as schedules evolve, though implementation is still emerging.

Review CDSi draft proposal for support "Vaccine Recommendation Category" and also look at HLN's approach. Start discussion on best model for this concept for use later in FHIR and HL7 v2.
