Overview
Supports the CDC in maintaining and expanding the CVX code system to represent any vaccination, given at any time, to any person, anywhere in the world. This ensures IIS can capture complete and consistent immunization histories across diverse settings. It builds on existing HL7 v2 and FHIR use of CVX codes rather than introducing a new exchange standard. This is a foundational capability for future interoperability, though most IIS rely on it indirectly rather than engaging directly.
