Overview

The HL7 Immunization User Group provides education, implementation support, and a forum for discussion for immunization information system (IIS), electronic health record (EHR), public health, and vendor implementers worldwide. The group addresses HL7 Version 2 and FHIR immunization messaging, including interface development, implementation questions, troubleshooting, and lessons learned. Participants include experts from state and city IIS programs, public health organizations, CDC, and IIS and EHR vendors and implementers. Meetings are generally held quarterly on Thursdays from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time and are listed on AIRA’s events calendar. The group also connects implementers with key resources, including the HL7 Version 2.5.1 Implementation Guide for Immunization Messaging, Release 1.5, published in October 2014, and its July 2015 Addendum.
