Overview

The Standards & Interoperability Steering Committee (SISC) provides technical support and guidance to AIRA members and the immunization information system (IIS) community. It serves as a liaison with national organizations involved in health information technology and interoperability, including the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), and provides a forum for addressing technical standards and implementation issues. Participants include experts from state and city IIS programs, IIS implementers, electronic health record (EHR) vendors, CDC, and other public health organizations. The committee is chaired by Mary Woinarowicz of the North Dakota Department of Health and Craig Newman of J. Michael Consulting. Additional information about its responsibilities and operation is available in the SISC Charter, and interested members of the IIS community may apply to participate.
